Consulting & Coaching

Consulting & Coaching

I help schools, workplaces, cities, and community organizations build more equitable systems for youth.

Since 2018, I've worked in alternative education settings within the public system - first as a classroom teacher for two years, then as a consultant and project manager. I have extensive experience designing learning and intervention programs for justice system-involved youth, foster youth, migrant pupils and language learners, and students navigating complex family and systemic barriers.

My approach is hands-on: I work directly in the trenches with school districts and youth-serving organizations, taking on a small number of projects each year where I have deep domain expertise. This allows me to build lasting partnerships and deliver meaningful impact rather than unsustainable surface-level recommendations.

Elevating youth voice and agency in underserved communities is a unifying theme in all of my work.

Services

Program Design, Implementation, and Evaluation

I help K-16 education partners create learning programs that actually work for their most challenging student populations. This includes designing specialized curricula, developing implementation strategies, and creating evaluation systems that provide actionable insights for sites, districts, and county offices.

Building Practices That Center Student Voice

I help schools and youth-centered organizations apply principles of youth participatory action and liberatory design to create cultures where youth voice drives program decisions. This includes designing working groups and listening campaigns that support youth-led change, and facilitating trainings and workshops that build meaningful collaboration between youth and adults.

Nonprofit & Social Enterprise Strategy Consulting

I provide strategic support to organizations reimagining how they sustainably impact their communities. This includes developing theories of change and logic models, creating funding strategies, designing data-driven pilot programs, and facilitating strategic gatherings with staff and community partners.

Youth Employment and Economic Development

I help schools, cities, and organizations develop youth entrepreneurship and work experience programs. This includes creating curriculum and action plans, as well as training practitioners to build youth-centered economic ecosystems within their communities.

Performance Coaching for Social Impact Leaders

I provide narrative-based coaching for educators, nonprofit leaders, and social entrepreneurs navigating complex roles and organizational change. I work with individuals and teams to strengthen culture, build sustainable systems, and develop leadership capacity for deeper community impact.

Lawrese Brown, Workforce Innovation Coach, 4.0 Schools
I am proud to share my experience working alongside Swati as a high school administrator. We hired Swati to work with our struggling high schools in Math. She had an important position and that was supporting and guiding seniors to graduation. From the very start, it was clear that our collaboration was driven by a deep commitment to student success. Together, we developed tailored programs that addressed the unique challenges faced by our at-risk students. Swati provided academic support but also fostered a nurturing environment where students felt valued and understood. This made it possible to reach students in meaningful ways, breaking down barrers to graduation. I wholeheartedly endorse the work we've done together.

Engaging with a professional coach as a creative professional presents a unique challenge. Many coaches approach one’s professional and creative lives as distinct entities, but this dichotomy does not reflect the lived reality of most writers, artists, designers and creative entrepreneurs. The intersection of creative output and earning a paycheck naturally introduces complexities that can obscure professional objectives and blur the boundaries between work and downtime. Swati Singh — with her nuanced understanding of these dynamics and incisive curiosity — provided invaluable guidance in helping me navigate this intricate balance. Through her methodical and thoughtful approach, I was able to align my creative ambitions with my financial goals, maintaining both without compromise. For creative professionals seeking a coach who comprehends the complexities of their world, I wholeheartedly recommend Swati.

As I worked to find a path that was meaningful to me, she offered invaluable insights from her own experience that helped keep me focused on what I was moving toward, rather than against in a difficult transition time.
